INSTITUTE OF COMMUNICATION AND COMPUTER SYSTEMS

The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) is a leading research organization affiliated with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), the oldest and most prestigious technical university in Greece. ICCS comprises over 40 research units and focuses among others on key areas such as distributed systems, cloud computing, blockchain technologies, data analytics, AI, and smart city applications.

CENTER FOR SECURITY STUDIES

The Center for Security Studies (Kentro Meleton Asfaleias – KEMEA), founded in 2005 by Law 3387, is a scientific, consulting and research organization overseen by the Minister of Citizen Protection, governed by common law and annually audited by chartered accountants. Its principal purpose is to conduct theoretical and applied research and studies, particularly at strategic level, on security topics and policies. Moreover, it is the think-tank of the Ministry of Citizen Protection on numerous policies such as public order, correctional services, terrorism prevention, crime prevention, integrated border management and civil protection as well as on various other security and societal issues; it also provides advisory and consulting risk-management services to an array of public and private organisations.

The French Ministry of the Interior ensures that local public law enforcement services are able to fulfil their duties of safeguarding people and property, and managing emergencies. Safeguarding the rights of our citizens means ensuring their security and protection against crime, day in, day out. The Police and the Gendarmerie Nationale cover a wide range of missions within the French Ministry of the Interior, from national offices to local criminal investigation units. Their staff combat all forms of crime, from minor acts of delinquency to organised crime, the underground economy, and trafficking of all kinds, as well as terrorism. This includes combatting any activity that could harm the fundamental interests of the nation. Essentially, this involves preventing and disrupting any activity on French soil that is inspired, undertaken or supported by foreign powers or organisations and that could lead to terrorism or threaten the authority of the state. The French Ministry of the Interior is also responsible for civil protection, which is in charge of relief and crisis management in France. It relies on 250,000 firefighters and national reinforcements that can operate throughout the country and overseas.

CIVIPOL

CIVIPOL is the international technical cooperation operator of the French Ministry of the Interior and is fully integrated into the Ministry’s external action framework. Combining the agility of a private-law entity with the authority of a public service, CIVIPOL designs and implements security cooperation programmes with partner states on matters of shared interest. These initiatives contribute to strengthening internal security at the national and European levels. Drawing on the expertise of its project managers and high-level specialists, CIVIPOL helps partner countries reinforce the core foundations of internal security, with the shared goal of creating a safer world. CIVIPOL also holds the chairmanship of the MILIPOL Economic Interest Group, organiser of the internationally renowned MILIPOL exhibition.

The Ministry of the Interior is the ministry for internal security. The Ministry’s vision is a safe and secure society in all situations and the Ministry’s aim is for Finland to be the safest country in the world. Our objective is to keep people, property and the environment safe and for all people to live safe everyday lives without crime, accidents or other disruptions. To make this possible, the authorities need to be able to prevent as many crimes and accidents as possible and to provide assistance in emergencies quickly and effectively. The Ministry of the Interior prepares legislation concerning the police, rescue services, emergency response centre operations, border management, maritime search and rescue and migration. The Ministry of the Interior guides and directs the police service, and prepares related legislation. The purpose of police work is to ensure the safety of people and the environment.

HELLENIC MINISTRY OF ECONOMY AND FINANCE

The Hellenic Ministry of Economy and Finance is the government body responsible for managing Greece’s public finances. Its official scope includes the formulation and implementation of national economic and fiscal policies, public budgeting, taxation and customs policies, financial regulations, public asset and property management, and coordination of the overall national financial strategy. While monetary policy is primarily conducted by the Bank of Greece within the framework of the Eurosystem, the Ministry contributes to broader economic planning and policy coordination.

CYPRUS POLICE

Cyprus Police operates under the supervision of the Minister of Justice and Public Order and is responsible for wide range of duties, according to Article 6, for the maintenance of law and order, the preservation of peace, the prevention and detection of crime and the apprehension of offenders all in line with preserving the citizens' rights. Currently Cyprus Police follows the Chief’s strategic mission which is designed to encourage and improve police relations with the citizens, with the view of reducing crime and safeguarding human rights.
